OK well i have been seeing that everyone is waiting for there vip to start a town. The towns that have been up for a while now are trying to get a comunity of people together to work together. We can't do that if every one is trying to make there own town so my suggestion wold be to only allow 8 to 10 towns, and some people might get mad but they will get over it. The people that are waiting for a vip only want there own town to be owner and only pretect there own land and they dont want to spend tax. Thanks for reading

Re: Towny Resident Limits
They'll still be paying a tax regardless.
Some people just dont want to live with other people. No harm in that.

Re: Towny Resident Limits
And how exactly do they do upkeeps without taxes?
And what good does it do you to have those people?
Towns are meant for people that want to work OTOGETHER to be able to without unwanted interference.
I see no reason to limit town numbers

Re: Towny Resident Limits
Well there are no taxes outside of towns. If a person creates a town he only hase to pay 1/4 of a diamond per plot per day.
EX: If Player A makes a town to protect his only chunk, he will only have to get one diamond to last 4 days.
What soviet is trying to point out is actually exactly what you are saying Kristall. Towny is meant for people to come together in towns a build with one another.
Towny is not meant to act as an individual protection device.
By limiting town numbers we increase the odds that for people to get protection they will want to build in towns.
Meaning that they will build together and they will all participate in the town upkeep.
Not to mention that if inflation gets too bad I will have to to adjust prices accordingly. Which would make it hard for anyone to manage a city solo without the proper community.
I think this is worth looking into and that we need to evaluate the pros and cons.

Re: Towny Resident Limits
YYou completely misunderstood me.
The key word i used is WANT. Why force people to do something they wouldnt want to do?
Upkeep and taxes are the same thing to me. If they want protection they're still paying.
Nothing good can come from forcing players together under the same protection umbrella.
The only thing i support is a starter town with cheap small plots for starters that doesnt give much option for expansion until they leave.

Re: Towny Resident Limits
That would be great, but that is not what Towny is designed for.
Towny is what it says. To make towns. I think we need to talk with crow over a GMail, it will be much more productive.

Re: Towny Resident Limits
(unlocked at soviet's request)
I figured him or someone else adding more input on here wouldn't jeopardize your discussion on g-mail. Let it be known that, as with ever suggestion, this is not a democratic issue. Coming in and just saying 'I like this' is not productive.
Also, I'm moving it to the suggestion's forum.

Re: Towny Resident Limits
Ok, 2 things.
1. This topic is closed. You made the suggestion, I heard it. We had a brief discussion, and now it is done.
2. Civ, I understand I put you in charge of the forums. But I am the senior Admin. When I say something is closed, or I move it to a section. Please do not change it without asking me prior to. If you need to do so my G-Mail is [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. Or you can PM me.
This topic is CLOSED. And it belongs in the Towny section, however I will let it remain here.
Thank you.
Edit(kristallnachte): why close threads at all? Theres nothing to gain by simply saying this is over and closing it.

Re: Towny Resident Limits
why close threads at all? What good does it do to just basically say "shut the fuck up" when this is all going in a civilized discussion?
